Spanish esports organization ZETA Gaming have announced their new Valorant roster ahead of Split 1 of VCL Spain: Rising. The team consists of kyrrz, Hastack, falltw, Leare, and roxie.
The lone player to return from the offseason edition of the 2023 ZETA roster is kyrrz. The Spanish player joined the organization in September, where they competed in the Crossfire Cup. The team reached the playoffs of Contenders #1, where they lost 0–2 to Dsyre in a semifinals matchup. They then tried their hand in Contenders #2, but ultimately lost in a Decider matchup to Movistar Riders, which ended their run in the tournament. ZETA later parted ways with the roster in October. Before joining ZETA, kyrrz competed for KPI Gaming from May 2022 to September 2023.
Hastack is another experienced Spanish player joining the team, having previously competed for teams such as Rebels Gaming and BISONS ECLUB. The 22-year-old spent all of the 2023 with the former team, having played both splits of VCL Spain with them. They placed sixth in Split 1 and ninth in Split 2, missing out on and notable achievements. Additionally, they also played in the Crossfire Cup this past offseason. However, the furthest they got in that event was a quarterfinals matchup in Contenders #1.
Russian player falltw hails from Team RA’AD, whom he spent all of 2023 with. The MENA team competed in the MENA Levant and North Africa VCL, where they placed first in Split 1 and second in Split 2. As a result, they advanced to the VCT EMEA Ascension Play-Ins. Unfortunately, the team lost three out of their four matchups and found themselves eliminated from the tournament. falltw and Team RA’AD also competed in various MENA tournaments, with one notable one being the EMG Series: Middle East and North Africa event, where they played second after a narrow 2–3 loss to Geekay Esports in the Grand Finals. Prior to joining Team RA’AD, falltw also competed for teams such as Case Esports and Crypto Esports. The IGL brings a lot of experience and firepower to this team.
Leare is one of the best up and coming Duelists in EMEA, putting up monster stats and making notable plays all of last year. The British player spent the second VCL Split with WLGaming Esports in the Italian region, where averaged an ACS of 287.5 and a KD of 1.62 throughout all of the matches in the League. Although the team placed seventh, Leare definitely made his mark and got noticed. Prior to competing for WLG, the 20-year-old spent time with HSDIRR, who he played the first split of 2023 with, and teams UCAM Esports Club, beGenius, and Team Queso. Additionally, he filled in for AEX-1 during some of their offseason matches in the VCL DACH Arcade tournament. Leare will bring a ton of firepower to an already explosive team.
Rounding out the roster is roxie. The Lithuanian player hails from fellow Spanish team Case Esports, where he competed with them from April 2022 until July 2023. During his time with the Spanish organization, the 21-year-old achieved multiple accomplishments, qualifying for the VRL Finals back in 2022 and most recently reaching a spot in VCT EMEA Ascension this past July after winning the Spanish VCL. However, the team was unable to get anything going in the Group Stage and went 0–4, which eliminated them from the tournament. roxie was then subsequently released at the end of that month, along with majority of that Case roster. Prior to joining Case, roxie played for teams such as Wave Esports, IVY, and UCAM Esports Club. Additionally, the Lithuanian stood in for Acend during their run in the Superdome 2022: Egypt tournament. He will bring a load of experience to this team.
Russian player Tolesaito was announced as the team’s sixth man/substitute player. He previously played in the same role for AYM Esports last year. The new Head Coach of the team is Future, who hails from Team RA’AD. The Spanish coach spent August 2022 to October 2023 with them, where they achieved numerous notable results. He has also coached 19esports in the past.
ZETA Gaming are coming off a bumpy year, but this new roster should be very promising. Split 1 of VCL Spain: Rising is set to start on January 15th.
