Spanish esports organization UCAM Esports Club have announced on X (formerly Twitter) they have parted ways with Grzegorz “grubinho” Ryczko. The organization also added he has since reached an agreement with another team. According to reports, he is set to join KOI.

grubino joined UCAM on September 20th of this year. Since joining the team, the Polish player has competed with them in a few of the EMEA OFF//SEASON tournaments such as the Crossfire Cup and the Mandatory Cup.

The team placed second in the Crossfire Cup, losing a 1–3 Grand Finals to VCT team Giants Gaming. Earlier in the tournament they beat teams such as Dsyre, Team Heretics, and Case Esports. However, UCAM didn’t have as much luck in the Mandatory Cup, as they bowed out in a semifinals matchup after a 1–2 loss to Acend.

One thing stood out during these tournaments and that was grubinho’s performance. His high rating and impactful rounds are rare for a Controller player. Teams have certainly been taking notice.

Prior to joining UCAM Esports, the 20-year-old competed with Anonymo Esports in both Splits of the 2023 VCL season. They competed in VCL East: Surge and placed third in Split 1 and fourth in Split 2. The team was easily able to beat the teams at the bottom of the leaderboard but struggled against the higher ranked teams such as Acend and Enterprise Esports.

grubinho also spent some time with teams such as Team Heretics and AWARIA during the 2022 season.

With grubinho reported to join KOI, this marks the latest player from the Spanish org to join a VCT team after Maks “kamyk” Rychlewski joined FNATIC as their sixth man this past season. The fellow Polish player spent the latter half of 2022 with the team. Additionally, UCAM’s current roster consists of some of the best up and coming players in EMEA and they should be a top contender for next season.
