Disguised has announced on X (formerly Twitter) that they have parted ways with their VCT NA Game Changers roster while they re-evaluate their future in the space.

A statement by Disguised says “After a heartbreaking ending to our GC Series 3 run this year, where a player was able to bypass Riot’s anti-cheat system in our games, we do not feel comfortable investing more into the scene as it exists today. While we believe Riot will continue to strive and improve on their system, being a self-funded org like DSG, it would be better for us to wait until such a system is implemented securely. With the recent news made by Riot to begin the GC year so soon, we believe it best to allow our players and staff to explore their options for the 2024 year.”

Disguised GC’s run in the last stage of Game Changers came to an end after losing 1–2 to noot noot in the Upper Quartefinals and then losing 1–2 to Evil Geniuses GC in the Lower Bracket. A member on noot noot was banned for cheating, so it left both players and viewers shocked that something like this could happen in an official tournament. This unfortunate situation effected Disguised GC since they lost to the cheating team. Riot disqualified noot noot from the tournament but they couldn’t change the outcome of the game versus Disguised.

The most recent iteration of Disguised GC, who have been with the team since July, placed high in the few tournaments they have competed in. Their most notable accomplishments include a third place finish at NA GC Stage 2 in July, where they took home $7,000, a sixth place finish in the most recent GC Stage 3, and a fourth place finish in the Cozy Clash tournament.

With this announcement, all the players and staff on Disguisced GC will be allowed to explore their options for the 2024 year. The organization also mentioned they hope to re-enter the Game Changers space once a more sustainable environment is established.

Prior to parting ways, Disguised GC were:

  • Katherine “Katarina” Patrone
  • Nathan “lazylion” Hoang
  • Hannah “hannah” Reyes
  • “unstable”
  • “misu”
  • Jake “Poach” Brumleve (Head Coach)
  • Chris “chrisyong” Yong (Analyst)
